‘Vatican Weekend ‘ for April 26, 2015

(Vatican Radio) ‘Vatican Weekend ‘ for  April 26, features a selection of readings and reflections focusing on the Sunday Gospel presented by Jill Bevilacqua. This is followed by a  conversation on a book by the intriguing title of  'Finding Jesus" - faith fact and forgery, six chapters which focus on six holy objects that tell the remarkable story of the gospels. Written by award winning authors and filmakers David Gibson and Michael McKinley as a companion to the CNN TV series it's an inquiry into the story of Jesus and the rare pieces of physical evidence we have that bolster the story.

In an effort to find out more Veronica Scarisbrick speaks to David Gibson, national reporter for Religion News Service in the U.S. who explains how these artefacts are in a way: "a rare patch of common ground between skeptics and believers, a place where science and religion come together…”

Wondering what artefacts David Gibson is talking about? Well as you can read on the dust cover of this book published by 'St Martin's Press' among them are: 'A burial box that has the name of Jesus on it? A papyrus gospel relating to his wife? A piece of wood from the Cross? A linen shroud that wrapped Jesus's corpse? "

A programme presented and produced by Veronica Scarisbrick
