Indian Catholic bishops' Office for Justice, Peace and Development


Indian priest, Fr. Charles Irudayam has been the executive secretary of the Office for Justice, Peace and Development of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India (CBCI), since 2010.   The main purpose of the office, he says,  is to disseminate and propagate information and making Catholics and other people of good will be aware of the social teaching of the Catholic Church especially with regard to justice, peace and development.  In this regard, the JPD Office also engages in social advocacy programmes and initiatives. Fr. Irudayam who has a doctorate on Catholic social teaching has written several  books on the issue.  On his recent visit to Rome he talked to us about his office.  He began by briefly describing the history of the Office for Justice, Peace and Development.  Listen:
