Auxiliary bishop named for Arusha

Pope Francis on Tuesday (11 Nov.) appointed Fr. Prosper Balthazar Lyimo as Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Arusha in Tanzania and assigned him the titular see of Vanariona. The bishop-elect has been serving as Chancellor and Judicial Vicar of the Archdiocese of Arusha.

Fr. Lyimo was born on the 20th August 1964 at Kyou-Kilema, in the Diocese of Moshi. He was ordained a priest on the 4th July 1997 for the Archdiocese of Arusha. He will be assisting Archbishop Josaphat Louis Lebulu.
