Korea visit: Fr Lombardi on future of Church in Asia


(Vatican Radio) On the penultimate day of his pastoral visit to Korea, Pope Francis met with Church leaders from across the continent of Asia, telling them he hoped those countries “with whom the Holy See does not yet enjoy a full relationship may not hesitate to further a dialogue for the benefit of all.” Speaking at a press conference later in the day, the head of the Holy See press office, Fr Federico Lombardi told journalists the Pope’s remarks were  a sign of goodwill, urging the bishops to sow seeds of dialogue through charitable works and educational services.

Our correspondent in Korea for this papal trip is Sean Patrick Lovett and he asked  Fr Lombardi about the legacy of this visit for the future of the Catholic Church in Asia……
