OECD-FAO report predicts eating habits over next decade


(Vatican Radio) Projections regarding the eating habits of people across the globe over the next ten years are one of the subjects of a new study by the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organisation.

Recently released jointly by the FAO and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, the Agricultural Outlook report explores ways in which changing eating habits are transforming what farmers are growing. Cereals continues to be the core staple, though diets are diversifying in many parts of the world to include more protein, fats and sugar, as incomes rise and urbanisation increases.
