Invocation Festival helps young Catholics discern role in the Church


(Vatican Radio) Young Catholics in the UK are taking part in a festival at Oscott Seminary in Birmingham this weekend to reflect on their calling and what role they can play in the Church. More than 400 young men and women are attending this year’s edition of the Invocation Festival which runs from Friday, July 4 to Sunday, July 6. Activities include Mass, workshops, a candle-lit procession and a series of presentations by speakers to help those seeking to discern the call of Christ in their lives.

One of the key-note speeches at the festival will be given by the head of the Pontifical Council for New Evangelisation, Italian Archbishop Rino Fisichella. He told Philippa Hitchen why an event like this is such an important way of reaching out to young people today...
