Aram I, Catholicos of Apostolic Armenian Church of Cilicia, meets Pope Francis on June 5th

(Vatican Radio) Aram I, Catholicos of the Apostolic Armenian Church of Cilicia, meets Pope Francis on June 5th in the Vatican when they will pray together.   Aram I is also scheduled to visit the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of Christian Unity and other dicasteries of the Roman Curia during his 3-day visit to Rome.

Aran I was elected as Catholicos of the Church of Cilicia in 1995 and met Pope John Paul in 1997 and Pope Benedict in 2008.    

The Apostolic Armenian Church counts around 6 million faithful.
