Nuncio to Jordan: People "Enthusiastic and Proud"

(Vatican Radio)  Ahead of the arrival of Pope Francis to Jordan, the Apostolic Nuncio to the country, Archbishop Giorgio Lingua said the Christians in the country have been “enthusiastic and proud” about the visit.

Listen to the interview by Fabio Colagrande with Archbishop Lingua:

All of the Christians know that Pope Francis is with them, and supporting their mission in this country,” Archbishop Lingua told Vatican Radio. He also spoke about the Pope’s meeting with refugees in the country.

“It is a nice gesture of closeness to them, to those who are suffering; and gratitude for those who are working for them,” Archbishop Lingua said. “Caritas Jordan in particular is doing a great job welcoming and assisting a lot of Syrian refugees.”
