Caritas Jordan talks about plight of refugees

(Vatican Radio)  Pope Francis’s final engagement in Jordan on Saturday is a meeting with  refugees and disabled people at Bethany beyond the Jordan, close to the baptismal site of Jesus.   Jordan hosts around a million refugees with the majority coming from neighbouring Syria and Caritas Jordan is among the humanitarian agencies who are playing a crucial role in helping care for these refugees.

Dana Shahin is Head of Communications for Caritas Jordan and she told Vatican Radio’s Fabio Colagrande more about the assistance they provide for the refugees living in Jordan.  She also said the refugees themselves welcome this meeting with the Pope because they believe it will help bring wider awareness of their "agonies."
