Vatican: Appeal for peace, dialogue and freedom in Syria

May 8, 2014: The Pontifical Council for the Family and the Italian Caritas made another appeal calling for "Peace for the families of Syria, dialogue between the ‎conflicting parties and freedom for all the hostages .” The joint video call was made at the book fair of Turin, Italy, ‎ May 8-12, in which the two organizations pledged to continue providing ‎concrete aid to the Syrian population to support the interventions of Caritas and in the work of education for peace and solidarity, despite the situation of violence.
