Pope’s tweet defines evangelization
May 05, 2014 - Pope Francis has posted a micro-blog on the social media defining
what evangelizing means for Christians. “What does “evangelize” mean? To give witness
with joy and simplicity to what we are and what we believe in,” the Pope wrote on
his Twitter account @Pontifex, on Monday. Following up on the message of Easter,
especially with accounts from the Acts of the Apostles on how fearlessly the followers
of Jesus preached their risen Lord, despite persecution, Pope Francis wants Christians,
first of all, to encounter Christ in personal friendship, and then to bear witness
to Him in their encounters with others.
