Canadian Province of Ontario dedicates April 2 to John Paul II
April 02,2014: - Canada has dedicated a day to Bl. John Paul II, who will be canonised
later this month in Rome, together with Pope John XXIII. The legislature of the Canadian
province of Ontario voted unanimously in favour of a bill establishing April 2 of
each year as the day of John Paul II. April 2 is the day the Polish pontiff died.
The parliamentary initiative is due to Dipika Damerla, member of the liberal constituency
of Mississauga East-Cooksville, Canada. The law that was passed on March 17, came
