Pope tweets on learning from Christ, to pray, forgive
Vatican City, 18 February 2014: In a post on the social media on Tuesday, Pope Francis
invited all to learn from Christ how to pray, forgive and to sow peace. The Pontiff
wrote on his Twitter account @pontifex: “Let us learn from Christ how to pray,
to forgive, to sow peace, and to be near those in need.”
Pope Francis
has often exhorted people to follow the path of Christ, to be messengers of peace,
and a good Samaritan to those in need. He wrote @pontifex on January 16: Let us
pray for peace, and let us bring it about, starting in our own homes! And on 14
November, the Pope wrote: Take care of God’s creation. But above all, take care
of people in need.
The Pope has now close to 11 million followers on his
Twitter account @Pontifex. And the re-tweeting of Pope’s message is reported to be
reaching at least 60 million people. The Pope’s English-language handle alone has
over 3 million followers. The papal tweets are published in nine languages on the
micro-blogging website. Source: VR Sedoc
