Vatican City, 25 January 2014: In a post on the social media on Saturday, Pope Francis
reflected on our attitude of giving thanks to God saying that we often ask for favors
but overlook thanking him. The Pontiff wrote on his Twitter account @pontifex: “It
is easy to ask God for things; we all do it. When will we also learn to give him thanks
and to adore him?” Pope Francis has often spoken about being grateful to God.
He wrote on 14 January 2014: may we always say thank you to God, especially for
his patience and mercy.
The Pope has now close to 11 million followers
on his Twitter account @Pontifex. And the re-tweeting of Pope’s message is reported
to be reaching at least 60 million people. The Pope’s English-language handle alone
has over 3 million followers. The papal tweets are published in nine languages on
