Pope tweets on daily life and the joy of being a Christian
Vatican City, 21 January 2014: In a post on the social media on Tuesday, Pope Francis
reflected on daily life and the joy of being a Christian. The Pontiff wrote on his
Twitter account @pontifex: “If we live the faith in our daily life, then our work
too becomes a chance to spread the joy of being a Christian.”
Pope Francis
has spoken of Christian faith and joy of being Christian a number of times since he
was elected Pope in March last year. Pope Francis wrote on 30 June: A Christian
is never bored or sad. Rather, the one who loves Christ is full of joy and radiates
joy. Earlier, on 19 June, Pope Francis tweeted: Christians are ready to proclaim
the Gospel because they can’t hide the joy that comes from knowing Christ.
The
Pope has now close to 11 million followers on his Twitter account @Pontifex. And the
re-tweeting of Pope’s message is reported to be reaching at least 60 million people.
The Pope’s English-language handle alone has over 3 million followers. The papal tweets
are published in nine languages on the micro-blogging website.Source: VR Sedoc
