Vatican City, 18 January 2014: In a post on the social media on Saturday, Pope Francis
reflected on war saying that they shatter so many lives. The Pontiff wrote on his

robbed of their childhood.”

of times since he was elected Pope in March last year. Pope Francis wrote on 3 September:
With utmost firmness I condemn the use of chemical weapons. We want in our
society, torn apart by divisions and conflict, that peace break out!. A day before
that tweet, Pope Francis tweeted thus: War never again! Never again war!
The
Pope has now close to 11 million followers on his Twitter account @Pontifex. And the
re-tweeting of Pope’s message is reported to be reaching at least 60 million people.
The Pope’s English-language handle alone has over 3 million followers. The papal tweets
are published in nine languages on the micro-blogging website. Source: VR Sedoc
