Dec. 24, 2013: In Bangladesh, young Catholics have written Christmas songs inspired
by the life of Jesus “Sheep of Heaven,” a Catholic choir, released its sixth album
for this year's Christmas. Titled Kuashar Chadur or "Mantle of Fog", the CD includes
ten Christmas songs, plus lyrics and original music. It tells the story of the birth
of Jesus and his story in the local language . "Through our songs we pray to Almighty
God because He loves us and His Son came to Earth for us," said 26-year-old Joyanto
Rozario, one of the members of the choir . The band, which recorded the music on modern
instruments that are not part of the musical tradition of Bangladesh, presented Kuashar
Chadur to the public on 16 December at a hotel in Dhaka. One of their fans told Asia
News that he admires these young people because their work not only offers entertainment
but also spiritual support.
