Advent is a journey towards Bethlehem: Pope

Vatican City, 14 December 2013: In a post on the social media on Saturday, Pope Francis reflected on the season of Advent. The Pontiff wrote on his Twitter account @pontifex: “Advent is a journey towards Bethlehem. May we let ourselves be drawn by the light of God made man.”

Earlier, on Thursday, the Holy Father explained in his homily that “humility is necessary for fruitfulness”, adding that the intervention of God overcomes the sterility of our life and makes it fruitful.

The Pope has now close to 11 million followers on his Twitter account @Pontifex. And the re-tweeting of Pope’s message is reported to be reaching at least 60 million people. The Pope’s English-language handle alone has over 3 million followers. The papal tweets are published in nine languages on the micro-blogging website.Source: VR Sedoc
