Canadian Church prays with Indigenous People

(Vatican Radio) On the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the Catholic Church in Canada marks its annual Day of Prayer in Solidarity with Indigenous People.

This year’s message for the Day of Prayer focuses on ?ehtseo Ereya, a 20th-century indigenous man who, Archbishop Murray Chatlain says, reflects the spiritual gifts of the Indigenous People to the Church.

Archbishop Chatlain ministers to a large Indigenous population in his northern archdiocese of Keewatin-LePas and sits on the Canadian Catholic Aboriginal Council.
