Bangladesh’s largest parish celebrates the closing of the Year of Faith
November 25, 2013 - Bangladesh’s largest and oldest parish, in the capital Dhaka,
solemnly closed the Year of Faith on Friday. Archbishop Patrick D' Rozario of Dhaka
and President of the Bishops' Conference, celebrated a Mass for about 2 thousand Catholics
of Tejgaon, stressing that during the year they have all “become stronger and firmer
in our Christian faith." 35-year old Catholic, Joseph Gomes told AsiaNews, "The
Year of Faith has made us stronger. Faith means trust. If I have faith in Christ,
I can depend on Him." The parish of Tejgoan was founded in 1677. Today, it has more
than 30 thousand faithful, including Catholic migrants from other parts of Bangladesh.
