Vatican City, 21 Nov 2013: Plenary Assembly of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue is scheduled for November 25 to 28 in Rome, revealed a Vatican Communique on Thursday. Cardinal Jean Louis Tauran, President of the Council has convened the Plenary Session of the Congregation on the theme "Members of different religious traditions in civil society."

During the Plenary Bishop François Bousquet will speak on the role of religion in civil society. It will be followed by other reports on various religious traditions in a society, in Asia and Oceania, in Africa, in Europe and the Americas.
Each report will be followed by the contributions and reflections of the Members. Father Miguel Ángel Ayuso Guixot, Council Secretary, will expose participants to the Council's activities over the past 5 years.

50 years since the Second Vatican Council and at the end of the Year of Faith, the Plenary Assembly is a happy and timely opportunity to reflect on the current situation of interreligious dialogue in various parts of the world and to deepen what should be the role of the Christian community to promote better relations with members of other religions, stated the communique.
