November 19, 2013 - In a post on the social media on Tuesday, Pope Francis reminded
the faithful worldwide that saints were simple human beings who loved God and their
neighbours. “The saints were not superhuman. They were people who loved God in their
hearts, and who shared this joy with others,” wrote the Pope on his Twitter account
@pontifex. The previous day, Monday, he reminded Christians admitting our sins brings
God’s peace. “Confessing our sins may be difficult for us, but it brings us peace.
We are sinners, and we need God’s forgiveness,” the Pope wrote. God’s tireless forgiveness
and mercy to repenting sinners has been a major theme of the papacy of 76-year old
Argentine Pope, who was elected the head of the Catholic Church over 8 months ago
on March 13.
