31 Oct. 20113: The Pope’s General Prayer intention for the month of November is that
“priests who experience difficulties may find comfort in their suffering, support
in their doubts and confirmation in their fidelity. Life is dificult for everyone.
Priests are no exceptions. They too experience physical and emotional pain. They too
struggle to remain faithful to their vocations, when they are lonely and feel unappreciated. They
too battle temptation, fear and discouragement. Pope Francis often mentions the
devil in his homilies, making it clear that behind many of life’s difficulties there
is a spiritual enemy. On Palm Sunday he said “The devil comes, often disguised as
an angel and slyly speaks his word to us. do not listen to him. Let us follow Jesus. We
must accompany and follow Jesus, but we know above all that He accompanies us and
carries us on his shoulders. This is our joy.Thi is the hope that we must bring to
the world .Priests need joy and hope to give them the strength to persevere in their
call and to imitate the Good Shepherd, as they help carry the burdens of the people
they serve. On Palm Sunday, Pope Francis asked us to support priests by being close
to them with affection and with our prayers, that they may always be good dedicated
shepherds. Let us join Pope Francis in praying this month for all priests throughout
this world who are suffering in any way Let us offer our ssufferings for them, that
they find comfort, support and confirnation inn their fidelity.
