Bishop appointed for Diocese of Allahabad
On Thursday, October 17, the Holy Father appointed Bishop Raphy Manjaly, Bishop of
Varanasi as the Bishop for the Diocese of Allahabad in India. Bishop Raphy Manjaly
has served the Varanasi Diocese as bishop from April, 2007. Allahabad Diocese is considered
to be one of the largest Dioceses in the world and comprises of 12 civil districts
of the North Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
