Iraqui Archbishop welcomes Syrian refugees as brothers and sisters
09,Oct: 2013: "We welcome Syrian refugees to our homes, because we want to give
witness to the universality of the Church and the Christian message of love," said
Chaldean Archbishop Rabban al Qas of Amadiyah, Iraq. In recent months his diocese
has welcomed more than 20 thousand people fleeing from the horrors of war in Syria.
Stating that most of them have lost everything including their homes, family and
friends, the prelate requested the faithful of the diocese to welcome them in
their homes as their brothers and sisters. Following the prelate’s request a village
near the border hosted more than 20 Christian families and integrated them into
the local community Source: Asianews
