Vatican to hold seminar on women

September 27, 2013 - The Vatican’s Pontifical Council for the Laity is organizing a study seminar in October on the theme, "God entrusts the human being to the Woman", based on Blessed Pope John Paul II’s 1988 Apostolic Letter, “Mulieris Dignitatem,” the Latin for “The Dignity of Women.” The October 10-11 seminar, organized by the Council’s Women’s Section, coincides with the 25th anniversary of the document which highlights the central role and the dignity and vocation of women in the Church and in society. The document, “Mulieris Dignitatem” focusses on the moral and spiritual strength of a woman that God has endowed her with in a special way, precisely by reason of her femininity which determines her vocation. 25 years on, the Vatican seminar will reflect on the ever-increasing presence and participation of women in social, economic, cultural and political life of the world.
