Pope’s tweet on faith as God’s gift of God

September 27, 2013 - The Pope’s latest post on the social media speaks about faith as gift of God that flows through the Church, and not our own making. “We do not become Christians by ourselves. Faith is above all a gift from God which is given to us in and through the Church,” the Pope wrote in his Twitter account, @Pontifex, on Friday. The post alludes to Friday’s Mass reading where Jesus asks His disciples, who they think He is. Peter responds saying He is the Son of God. On another nation of the episode Jesus tells Peter that what he knows is not revealed to him “by flesh and blood,” but by His Father in heaven. (Source: Vatican)
