Pope: Anniversary of South Korean ordinations marked
(Vatican Radio) Below is a message from Pope Francis and signed by Cardinal Secretary
of State Tarcisio Bertone marking the 20th anniversary of the ordination of 20 priests
in Seoul, South Korea.
The Most Reverend Andrew Yeom Soo jung Archbishop
of Seoul
The Holy Father was pleased to be informed of the Holy Mass to be
celebrated on 16 September 2013 in the Cathedral Church of the Archdiocese of Seoul
as some priests of the Archdiocese celebrate the twenty-fifth anniversary of their
ordination. He sends cordial greetings to the Jubilarians, their families and friends,
and to all who join them on this occasion. Assuring them of his prayers, His Holiness
encourages the Jubilarians to grow daily in ever greater joy and generosity in service
to Christ and his Church and to see in this celebration an occasion to renew and deepen
their priestly commitments. Pope Francis commends all present to the maternal intercession
of Mary, Mother of Priests, and to the intercession of the Korean Martyrs, and he
cordially imparts his Apostolic Blessing as a pledge of peace and strength in our
Lord Jesus Christ.
