Pope Francis receives the President of Catholic Action, Italy
Vatican City, 10 September 2013: Pope Francis on Monday received in audience Franco
Miano, the President of Catholic Action, Italy.
During the meeting, they discussed
topics ranging from education that characterizes the largest association of lay Catholics
in Italy, to the daily service in parishes and dioceses they engaged in for the growth
of the communities.
The Pontiff, while appreciating the great history of the
Catholic Action, Italy, especially to those at the service of the suffering, and those
who seek hope and solidarity, encouraged them to be more missionary.
At the
end of the meeting, the President Miano donated to Pope Francis a backpack from Catholic
Boys who participated in the pilgrimage in the Year of Faith, during which, on last
Saturday morning, they anticipated in a prayer for peace.
