Bodies in Mexico unearthed following disappearance
(Vatican Radio) Forensic experts are examining bodies at two clandestine burial sites,
at a ranch to the South East of Mexico City. James Blears reports that this is directly
linked to an ongoing investigation involving the disappearance of 13 people, who were
abducted outside a club in the Capitol, three months ago. A suspect in the case
led Mexican Police right to the grisly site. Unearthed bodies are so badly decomposed,
that DNA and dental identifications must be used. On May 26th, security cameras
showed 13 young adults being abducted and forced into vehicles, two by two. This happened
in broad daylight in the Zona Rosa area of downtown Mexico City, less than two minutes
walk away from the US Embassy in one direction, and Police Headquarters in the other.
This place also skirts the international hotel zone. Another member of that group,
managed to escape and raise the alarm. Since then Federal and State Police have been
hunting for the abductors and the abducted. The 13 were from the nearby crime
ridden area of Tepito, where two rival drug gangs are murderously feuding for street
supremancy. Listen to this report by James Blears:
