Vatican City, 20 August 2013: Christianity is a full-time faith, Pope Francis told
Catholics on Monday. The Pontiff also exhorted Christians to always keep Christ at
the centre of their lives. “We cannot be Christians part-time. If Christ is
at the centre of our lives, he is present in all that we do”, Pope Francis wrote
from his Twitter account.
Catholics can't put their faith on a part-time
schedule or rely on it just for the moments they choose; being Christian is a full-time
occupation, Pope Francis had earlier said.
If people don't open their hearts
to the Holy Spirit to let God purify and enlighten them, then "our being Christian
will be superficial," the pope said on last Wednesday at his weekly general audience.
The
Pope now has more than 8 million followers on his Twitter account @Pontifex. The Pope’s
English-language handle alone has over 2.8 million followers. The papal tweets are
published in nine languages on the micro-blogging website.Source: VR Sedoc
