Pope’s message to Catholics of Argentina

08 July 2013: Pope Francis on Thursday greeted with affection all the Catholics of Argentina who will take part in the national collection at the “Mass for the poor” sponsored by the local episcopate, which will take place on 8 September. This year's motto is "We trust in your help."
The papal message signed by Vatican Secretary of State - Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, said the Pope encourages all those who seek to make a commitment of solidarity inspired by Christian faith in God, who has given them everything. On the occasion of this initiative, Pope Frances invites all Argentineans to identify more closely with Christ, cultivating his friendship with prayer and the celebration of the Sacraments, to find the forces that give a valuable service to support people in need, especially the poorest. In last year’s collection the sum raised was nearly $ 2.9 million. The funds were used to finance numerous projects and initiatives in the poorest dioceses of Argentina. Source: Sedoc
