05 July, 2013 - Pope Francis and Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI shared some rare moments
together Friday morning and remained close to each throughout at a ceremony in Vatican
City. The occasion was the inauguration of a new monument to St. Michael the Archangel
in the Vatican gardens, and the consecration of Vatican City State to St. Joseph and
St. Michael the Archangel. The Pope Emeritus, invited by Pope Francis, arrived at
the scene a little before the start of the ceremony, and was warmly greeted by those
present. Soon Pope Francis arrived and the two embraced each other affectionately
and sat close to each other throughout the ceremony in front.
