The UNASUR, or Union of South American nations meeting is taking place in Cochabamba, Bolivia. The Presidents of Argentina, Venezuela, Peru, Ecuador and Surinam are going to be listening to President Evo Morelas' account of how his jet was denied airspace by France, Spain and Portugal, ending up in Vienna. He was returning from a summit in Moscow, where National Security Agency operative Edward Snowden, has been in limbo in the airport, since June 23rd.
Bolivia's Ambassador to the UN, who's already filed an official complaint about the flight of fancy fiasco bluntly stating: "We have no doubt that this was an order from the White House."
President Evo Morales is calling the incident: "An open provocation to South America." He also added: "They use the agent of North American imperialism to try and intimidate us. They're not going to frighten us, because we are a people of dignity and sovereignty."
Argentina's President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner agreed: "This is a humiliation for a sister nation and for the South American Continent." Mexico's Foreign Ministry has also voiced a rebuke. While Cuba says it's: "Arbitary and offensive to all of Latin America and the Caribbean."
The anger this has caused ranges upwards between: Premier, and we mean business... class.
