'Ecclesia in Europa' 10 years later
(Vatican Radio) Friday marks the 10th anniversary of the apostolic exhortation Ecclesia
in Europa. Issued by John Paul II, it calls for a new approach to proclaiming
Jesus Christ on the continent.It is also the focus of the 41st meeting of the Commission of the Bishops’ Conferences of the European Community, being held in Warsaw, Poland. The meeting began Thursday and continues until Sunday.
Fr. Michel Remery, vice secretary-general of the Commission, spoke with Laura Ieraci about the new challenges that have emerged in Europe in the last decade and the way in which a Gospel approach can help respond to the crisis and transform the culture.
