(Vatican Radio) Bishop Anthony Wieslaw Krótki, O.M.I., was ordained May 30 as the
bishop of Churchill-Hudson Bay, whose territory takes in a large portion of the Canadian
North.
The ordination took place at the Church of Mary Our Mother in Rankin
Inlet, Nunavut. His predecessor, Bishop-emeritus Reynald Rouleau, O.M.I., of Churchill-Hudson
Bay, presided. Archbishop Murray Chatlain of Keewatin-The Pas and apostolic administrator
of Mackenzie-Fort-Smith and Bishop-emeritus Gilles Cazabon, O.M.I., of Saint-Jérôme,
assisted.
Several other bishops from across the country were also present,
including Archbishop Richard Smith of Edmonton, who serves as president of the Canadian
Conference of Catholic Bishops.
