(May 29, 2013) The National president of the Conference of Religious India, CRI
, is taking part in the United Nation’s 23rd Session of its Human Rights
Council in Geneva, Switzerland. Salesian priest, Fr. V.M. Thomas (Vattathara) will
make a presentation during the session which began on May 27 and continues till June
14. A wide range of human rights issues will be addressed throughout the session,
including human rights situation in over 40 countries. Fr. Thomas is scheduled to
make a presentation on Don Bosco Institute at Kharguli in Guwahati, of which he is
the founder director. Fr.Thomas who is currently the provincial of Guwahati
province is known for his innovative initiatives for the promotion of human rights
of children and young people . He has also been involved with peace promotion in
the conflict ridden areas of Orissa and Assam. Source: CBCI
