Pope Francis appoints US, Philippines Bishops

Pope Francis on Monday appointed Bishop Michael Owen Jackels, formerly of the Diocese of Wichita, as the Archbishop of Dubuque, Iowa. He also named Msgr. John Thomas Folda, a priest of the Diocese of Lincoln, Nebraska, as the Bishop of Fargo, North Dakota.

In the Philippines, Pope Francis named Bishop Reynaldo Gonda Evangelista, formerly of the Diocese of Boac, as the new Bishop of Imus.
