Annunciation of the Lord: a musical meditation

(Vatican Radio) The words 'Ave Maria, gratia plena', take us straight to the heart of the first Joyful Mystery of the Rosary, the Annunciation.

Monsignor Philip Whitmore brings us a musical meditation focusing on this Mystery. Among the settings he's chosen is one by the living English composer John Tavener: "...The music has a prayerful quality that's hard to describe, but you can tell it's the fruit of profound meditation on the part of the composer... for me the most sublime passage of all is when we hear the Angel sing: Blessed art thou among women. Blessed indeed."
