Monday Musicals for March 25

As I promised you on Saturday ,that I would be basing Melodies & Memoires programs for Holy Week primarily on instrumental music, I am bringing the exceptional Giovanni De Chiaro album “The Guitar On Broadway” with me to the studio today for our Monday Musicals feature. De Chiaro’s arrangements for the guitar come from The Sound Of Music, Man Of La Mancha, West Side Story, Cats, South Pacific and Phantom Of The Opera.

I will enjoy addressing this retired (University of Southern Mississippi) Professor of guitar’s latest projects and activities including those he performs as founding director of the Carlow Choir, a vocal ensemble which has presented scared music concerts throughout the US, Ireland and Italy, and which has performed also for Pope Benedict XVI while in the Vatican.
