New Cardinals as Members of Departments and agencies of the Roman Curia


January 31, 2013: The Holy Father, has appointed the Cardinals created in the consistory of 24 November 2012, as members of the departments and agencies of the Roman Curia. Cardinal Thottunkal Cleemis Baselios, Major Archbishop of Trivandrum of the Syro Malankars finds a place in the Congregation for the Oriental Churches and the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue.

The appointments:
1) Cardinal John Olorunfemi Onaiyekan of Abuja to the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.

2) Cardinals Bechara Boutros Raï, Patriarch of Antioch of the Maronites, and Thottunkal Cleemis Baselios, Major Archbishop of Trivandrum of the Syro Malankars to the Congregation for the Oriental Churches

3) Cardinal Ruben Salazar Gomez, Archbishop of Bogotá to the Pontifical Commission for Latin America

4) Cardinal James Michael Harvey, Archpriest of the Papal Basilica of St. Paul outside the Walls to the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples,

5) Cardinal Bechara Boutros Raï, Patriarch of Antioch of the Maronites to the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura,

6) Cardinals John Olorunfemi Onaiyekan, Archbishop of Abuja, and Luis Antonio G. Tagle, Archbishop of Manila to the Presidential Committee of the Pontifical Council for the Family,

7) Cardinal Ruben Salazar Gomez, Archbishop of Bogotá to the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace,

8) Cardinals Bechara Boutros Raï, Patriarch of Antioch of the Maronites, and Luis Antonio G. Tagle, Archbishop of Manila to the Pontifical Council for the Pastoral Care of Migrants and Itinerant People
