Administrator appointed to the Vacant Seat of Allahabad

January 31, 2013: The Holy Father on Thursday, accepted the resignation of Bishop Isidore Fernandes, from the pastoral care of the Diocese of Allahabad in India, in accordance with canon 401 § 2 of the Code of Canon Law, and appointed Bishop Ignatius Menezes, the Bishop Emeritus of Ajmer, as Apostolic Administrator of the vacant seat of the Diocese.
