January 12, 2013: Pope Benedict XVI received in audience the Prince Albert II of Monaco,
on Saturday morning. The Prince was accompanied by his spouse Princess Charlene, said
a Vatican press release. Soon after meeting the Pontiff, the Prince also met Cardinal
Tarcisio Bertone, Vatican Secretary of State, and Archbishop Dominique Mamberti, Secretary
for Relations with States.
During the cordial discussions, they focused on
the significant contribution of the Catholic Church in the social life, and also some
current international issues, such as the integral development of peoples and the
protection of natural resources and the environment, the communique added.
