447 000 people attended Pope’s Wednesday audiences in 2012
December 20, 2012: The data of Papal audiences on Wednesday for 2012 was released
by the Prefecture of the Papal Household and was published in Vatican’s newspaper
L'Osservatore Romano on Thursday. Accordingly, 447 000 people attended Pope’s weekly
audience on Wednesday in 2012. This is a combined figure of Weekly audiences of Pope
held in St. Peter's Square, in Paul VI Hall and in the courtyard of the Apostolic
Palace of Castel Gandolfo. The largest number was recorded in the month of October
with 90,000 people, and the least was in the month of August with 10,500 people.
The
published figures, however, concerned ONLY the Wednesday general audiences. The Total
data of all other audiences and papal ceremonies in 2012 is expected to be disclosed
by the Prefecture of the Papal Household after Christmas.
