December 08, 2012: After reciting midday Angelus prayer with the faithful and tourists
in St. Peter’s square on Saturday, Pope Benedict XVI prayed for the cyclone hit people
of Philippines. While assuring his prayers for the victims, their families, and the
many displaced people, the Holy Father said that faith and brotherly love have the
strength to face this difficult trial.
Then he addressed the English speaking
people: I greet all the Inglese-speaking visitors present at this Angelus
prayer. Today, with joyful hearts, we celebrate the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed
Virgin Mary. Through her powerful intercession, may the Lord grant us the grace to
reject sin and persevere in the grace of baptism. I wish you a happy feast day and
invoke upon you and your families God's abundant blessings!
