Ordinary Public Consistory for the creation of new cardinals
November 17, 2012: Pope Benedict XVI will hold an Ordinary Public Consistory for
the creation of new cardinals on Saturday, 24November 2012, at 11 am in St. Peter's
Basilica in the Vatican, revealed a communique on Saturday from Monsignor Guido Marini,
Master of Papal Liturgical Celebrations. During the Consistory, six new cardinals
– designate, will receive the imposition of the biretta, the delivery of the ring
and the allocation of Title.
Courtesy visits to the new Cardinals will be held
on Saturday, 24 November from 16.30 to 18.30. The new cardinals will concelebrate
the Mass with Pope Benedict on Sunday morning, 25 November Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus
Christ the King, in St. Peter's Basilica.
