(Vatican Radio) The Vatican court has sentenced Claudio Sciarpelletti, a computer
technician with the Secretary of State, to four months imprisonment for his role in
the so-called ‘Vatileaks’ case. The sentence was reduced to two months because of
extenuating circumstances.
The ruling comes as part of the investigation into
the theft of confidential documents, an investigation that has already led to the
conviction of the Pope’s former butler, Paolo Gabriele.
