Marking the Dedication of the Pope's Cathedral
(Vatican Radio) November 9th is the day the Church marks the Dedication
of the Cathedral of Rome, the Basilica of Saint John Lateran . It was 324 when Pope Sylvester installed his throne inside the Basilica of Saint John Lateran during its' first official dedication.
A throne symbolically placed there as the privileged seat of papal authority. Reflecting too this Church’s claim as "Mother Church".
