November 06, 2012: Tuesday November the 6th is the day when Americans
decide whom they want as president, Barack Obama or Mitt Romney. The US Conference
of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has urged Catholics to cast their vote in Tuesday's election,
saying responsible citizenship is a virtue, and participation in political life is
a moral obligation. Kathy Saile, Director of Domestic Social Development at the US
Conference of Catholic Bishops, spoke to our collegue Susy Hodges about the presidential
election, the mood of the nation and some of the key issues at stake. Saile said that
the U.S. bishops are urging Catholics "to bring their faith to the ballot box and
not just their own partisan interests."
