October 29, 2012 - Pope Benedict XVI on Monday received in private audience Prime
Minister Zoran Milanovic of Croatia. Milanovic later met Vatican Secretary of State
Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone and Vatican Secretary for Relations with States Archbishop
Dominique Mamberti. In a brief note, the Holy See’s Press office said that during
the cordial discussions the two sides exchanged “opinions on the challenges the country
finds itself having to face during the current economic crisis, as well as on issues
of mutual interest within the framework of bilateral relations.” They also touched
upon a conference in the Vatican Monday afternoon organized by the Croatian embassy
to the Holy See, to mark 20 years of diplomatic relations between the two sides (1992
– 2012). The two sides also agreed to resolve as soon as possible the property dispute
case of the northern Adriatic parish of Dajla, in the spirit of traditional friendship.
